DGvet- 30 First Newsletter

The Digital Green Consumption-30 (DGvet-30) project officially began in November 2024, marking the start of an inspiring three-year Erasmus+ partnership between Spain (Basque Country), Italy, Slovenia, and Türkiye.

Our shared vision is simple yet powerful — to equip vocational students and teachers with the green and digital skills needed to face the climate challenges of tomorrow.

Project teams are already designing interactive training materials, energy-monitoring tools for schools, and inclusive programs that encourage women’s participation in technical and renewable-energy fields.

Each action supports the European goal of reducing emissions, improving energy efficiency, and shaping a sustainable and inclusive VET community.

In this first issue, we look back at the project’s launch in Usurbil (Spain), share news from our partners’ activities, and highlight the collaborations that are bringing this vision to life.

Meeting #1

The DGvet-30 project officially started with its first transnational meeting hosted by Usurbil VET School in Spain (Basque Country). Representatives from all partner institutions — Academia (Slovenia), SCF (Italy), and Temizel-Ünlü (Türkiye) — came together to discuss the project’s main objectives, share their institutional visions, and set the roadmap for the upcoming activities. The two-day meeting was filled with discussions, teamwork, and presentations about how vocational education can play a major role in supporting Europe’s green and digital transition.

İŞKUR VISIT STRENGTHENS COLLABORATION FOR WOMEN IN INDUSTRY On April 21, 2025, the DGVET-30 project team visited the Karaman Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR). During the meeting, school representatives shared project goals and discussed ways to increase women’s participation in industrial training programs. As a result, several joint seminars were planned, focusing on CV writing, job search skills, and employment in growing sectors — helping students and women gain practical skills for future opportunities.

Meeting News

On April 21, 2025, the DGVET-30 project team visited the Karaman Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR). During the meeting, school representatives shared project goals and discussed ways to increase women’s participation in industrial training programs. As a result, several joint seminars were planned, focusing on CV writing, job search skills, and employment in growing sectors — helping students and women gain practical skills for future opportunities.

The project took the international stage on April 9–10, 2025, during the International Meeting on Vocational Training at the Guggenheim Museum. Experts and European leaders shared insights on building a sustainable, digital, and inclusive future. The next day, at the Iberdrola Tower, DGVET30 presented its interactive learning platforms and student-led energy monitoring projects, inspiring collaboration across Europe. These events increased the project’s visibility and showed how international cooperation can shape greener, smarter vocational education.

As part of the DGVET-30 project, the team visited the Karaman Trade Provincial Directorate to strengthen cooperation on sustainable vocational training. The meeting focused on supporting women’s entrepreneurship and promoting active participation in technical education. Together, both sides planned a seminar on entrepreneurship and cooperatives, where successful women from the region will share their experiences and inspire others to join industrial fields.

The DGVET-30 project team also met with the Karaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTO) to explore collaborative actions that promote women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and professional growth. During the meeting, several inspiring stories of successful local women entrepreneurs were shared, and future workshops and mentorship sessions were planned to showcase their experiences and motivate young women to pursue technical and leadership roles. The Chamber generously offered its conference hall for upcoming project activities, reflecting a strong commitment to education, innovation, and gender equality in the region.

WHAT WE ACHIEVED SO FAR

Since the official launch of the DGvet-30 project is November 2024, our journey toward a greener and smarter Europe has already begun to take shape. In just a few months, partners from Spain (Basque Country), Italy, Slovenia, and Türkiye have turned ideas into real actions, blending innovation, education, and sustainability.

Together, we have organized international meetings, energy awareness sessions, and training activities focused on reducing CO₂ emissions, improving energy efficiency, and integrating digital technologies into education. These first steps will help us strengthen collaboration between vocational schools and industries, ensuring that future workers are equipped with both green and digital skills.

A key milestone has also been the active inclusion of women in technical and industrial training, highlighting equality as an essential pillar of sustainable development.

As we move forward, our mission remains clear: to continue innovating, connecting, and empowering the next generation of professionals ready to lead the green transition.
