We Participated in the Webinar "Beyond Stereotypes: Women Across All Vocational Education and Training Programmes"

On 11 June, we had the opportunity to participate in the webinar "Beyond Stereotypes: Women Across All Vocational Education and Training Programmes", held as part of ETHAZI Astea, an event organized by ITLENT for teachers from the Basque Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.

During the session, three VET centres from the Basque Country shared initiatives and best practices aimed at increasing the participation of women in industrial vocational programmes. It was a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and reflect on the challenges and opportunities involved in creating a more inclusive and gender-balanced VET system.

During our presentation, we showcased the initiatives we are implementing to raise the visibility of women in industry. We shared how we promote the experiences of our current students and former students, giving them a voice to tell their stories about studying at our school and starting their professional careers in the industrial sector. Their testimonials are a powerful way to inspire young women and help break down stereotypes associated with industrial professions.

We also introduced the community of women connected to the industrial sector that we have recently started to build. This initiative aims to create a support network bringing together students, alumni, and industry professionals, encouraging collaboration, mentoring, the exchange of experiences, and the creation of female role models for future generations.

We would like to thank ITLENT for giving us the opportunity to participate in this inspiring event alongside other VET centres. We firmly believe that sharing good practices is essential to promoting equal opportunities and encouraging more women to choose industrial education and careers.

For those who were unable to attend, the webinar recording is available here.
